WHO doesn't have great memories chanting the lyrics "Get up, stand up a stand up for your righta with iconic reggae legend Bob Marley?

Well, I'm sorry if you don't.

Either way a the song calls on all of us to not be complacent in our struggle against the so-called apowers that bea.

Such is the case for a small group of people who met at the Naked Bean in South Grafton last night for the first official GetUp GetTogether.

For the uninitiated, GetUp is a political advocacy group which claims to be non-party political. It is responsible for some incredibly insightful video clips that satirise the current political state.

Hosting the South Grafton aplanninga meeting last night was Grafton web designer and philanthropic thinker Liza Bloomer, who explained a little more.

She said a survey of the GetUp membership last year (now numbering more than 350,000) identified three key issues which are, in order of priority, mental health, climate change and refugees. …
