WHALE Watch operators are working tirelessly to prepare themselves for what is promising to be a successful whale watching season.

In just a few weeks the season will be in full swing, and tour operators, accommodation providers and restaurants/cafA[c]s should hopefully reap some reward for what has been a tough year for the national tourism industry as a whole.

The whale watch campaign, arguably the most important campaign of the year, is now in full swing.

The new whale watch brochure has been in the market since April, and this will see up to 230,000 brochures being distributed through visitor information centres (intrastate and interstate), RACQ centres all across Queensland, as well as through the Sunday Mail and at numerous consumer and trade travel shows.

Our whale watching season has also been advertised through numerous popular websites, along with outdoor, television and radio advertising.

Last year's campaign included advertising through a variety of different media and despite the tough economic climate, the campaign was a success. …
