"I ONLY came here to retire. I don't want to go anywhere," Ray Fraser said as he sat in the sunshine this week, making fishing lures for trial runs at Borumba Dam.

Ray and his neighbours look like having to find somewhere else to live after a council committee recommendation this week to close the Imbil Caravan Park, where he and his neighbours live.

"I've got to take the lures up to the dam and given them a swim," he said, essentially outlining the idyllic ambitions of a man who moved to the banks of Yabba Creek to retire 15 years ago.

"I couldn't care less," said one of his neighbours, when told of the likely move-out deadline of June 30 next year.

"I might be dead by then," he said.

"I only came here to retire. I don't want to go anywhere," Ray Fraser said, after having made his retirement decision following a career in forestry.

Michael Clarke said he had maintained his site, at the Mary Valley town's picturesque creek-side van park, for five years. …
