Milestones for Ipswich Track

Article excerpt

THERE were two milestone race meetings at Ipswich last week.

The first of those was on Tuesday a the final Tuesday meeting for Ipswich for the foreseeable future.

The second meeting of the week was Friday, which introduced Ipswich as a Friday racing club.

Thoroughbred gallops, harness and greyhound racing are all now under the control of a new entity in Racing Queensland.

The Queensland Government has committed $80 million to fund infrastructure development as part of the three code merger process. A full master plan is to be announced in the next couple of months and at that time the situation in relation to Ipswich for all three codes will be disclosed.
