MEMBER for Ipswich Rachael Nolan has toured ongoing construction work at the new Ipswich ambulance station and declared the facility would be a great asset for the local community.

Ms Nolan said on Friday it was expected that work on the new facility on the site of the former Ipswich City Council works depot would be completed by the end of the year.

C[pounds sterling]The State Government has committed $4.6 million for the construction of this replacement station and it was great to see first hand how work is progressing at the facility,C[yen] Ms Nolan said.

C[pounds sterling]Growing demand and a rapidly increasing population in the area meant we had to invest in this project to achieve the long-term service delivery requirements of the QAS.C[yen]

Ms Nolan said when the facility was complete, the Ipswich region would have a world-class facility that will accommodate a full-time roster of 22 staff and will house up to 11 vehicles.

The completed station will include office accommodation, rest areas, training facilities and amenities. …
