QUEENSLAND hooker Cameron Smith says the Maroons have no excuses for not performing well in tomorrow night's State of Origin dead-rubber in Sydney.

The Maroons have already romped to their fifth successive series victory but one feat the core of the squad hasn't achieved is a 3-0 clean sweep.

Queensland was heavily criticised for its lax build-up for Origin III last year and Smith, speaking from Camp Maroon at Hyatt Regency Coolum yesterday, said the past week had been the best Origin preparations he's been involved in.

C[pounds sterling]I can't remember having a camp that's gone so smoothly but I don't know if that's a bad thing,C[yen] Smith said.

Queensland hasn't achieved a 3-0 series victory since the class of 1995 took New South Wales to the cleaners and a win tomorrow night would seal Mal Meninga's era as the best tenure in the history of the concept. …
