New Wave of Home Blocks Boost Sarina

PACIFIC Parks Estate launched the third stage of its development yesterday, boosting the Sarina region's residential housing supply with 45 blocks of land.

Mackay Regional Council mayor Col Meng and development portfolio councillor Di Hatfield joined Pacific Property Developers director Paul Dingle onsite to tour the new section of the development.

Cr Meng said more residential land was needed to cater for the region's rapidly growing population and demand.

"With a growth rate of almost 4 per cent per year we need land and homes that will accommodate a wide range of people, families, workers and young couples," Cr Meng said.

"The development and building of new homes will also help boost our local economy and provide additional employment in the region."

Mr Dingle said the land release came at a time when limited residential land was available to support the demand for new housing on the south side of the quick growing Mackay city.

"Sarina is a key growth area for residential expansion due to its proximity to major employers including Queensland Rail, Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay coal terminals, Pacific National, Paget and the Bowen Basin," Mr Dingle said. …
