Big Guns Aim to Get Back on Top

Article excerpt

BILLINGHAM Synthonia kick off the new Northern League campaign tomorrow under new management but looking to restore the old order.

Synners get down to business at home to West Allotment Celtic aiming to reclaim the top spot in Teesside after several years in the shadows.

Cash-strapped Town struggled to keep hold of players last term and only avoided relegation on the final day when their rivals stumbled.

They face a similar grind this time round and will also battle on a second front as they face a big legal fixture against big boys Hartlepool United in October.

They face a winding up order over the League One club's ground-lease arrangement at Bedford Terrace and survival - in the division and as a going concern - will be considered a massive success. …
