ONE of the world's oldest banks is the latest big donor to the Evening Standard's Dispossessed campaign.

Rothschild joined hundreds of readers in backing the fund.

The City investment bank, which traces its roots in banking to the 1760s, is supporting our fund with a generous five-figure donation, and today singled out the Dispossessed campaign as one of the most effective ever undertaken in London.

Chief Executive Officer Nigel Higgins said: "Rothschild is proud to be supporting the Evening Standard's campaign.

"For over 200 years, London has been at the centre of what we do. Throughout this time we have been concerned to alleviate hardship in the capital. The Standard's campaign is one of the best ways to do this today."
