Jess's on Board to Help Others Aim for the Stars

SOLO sailor Jessica Watson has joined forces with champion surfer Layne Beachley to encourage others to follow their passions.

The Layne Beachley Aim for the Stars Foundation was created to inspire girls and women across Australia to dream and achieve, and in the six years since has helped more than 170 females to pursue their goals.

On May 15, Jess, of Buderim, became the youngest person to sail solo non-stop and unassisted around the world.

In the process, she hoped to inspire young sailors and adventurers to believe they could achieve anything they put their heart into.

"The foundation aligns so perfectly with my own beliefs that you can achieve great things if you believe in your dream and work hard to achieve it," Jess said.

"Aim for the Stars encourages and inspires dedicated and committed girls and women across Australia to dream and achieve.

"I am excited and privileged to support them."

Jess said she had developed a close relationship with Ms Beachley and was looking forward to working with her. …
