IT WAS another perfect shooting day for the five squads who lined up for the usual monthly shoot at the Grafton Clay Target Club's monthly event. With the excellent conditions it was predictable that a number of possible would be shot and that was the case with no less than four in the first event.

Main event for the day was the one that everyone hates to shoot, but thoroughly enjoys it when they do shoot it, namely the Double Rise. The problem is that we don't shoot enough of it. For this Double Rise Club Championship event there were 25 pair on offer.

Geoff Jacobsen and Ted Schneider both from the Richmond River Club were even on 39/50 at the end of the round. In the ensuing shoot-off, Geoff won by one point to take home the championship sash.

High Gun for the day was Kevin Harding also from the Richmond River Club with a creditable score of 137/150. …
