Scott's Fired Up and Has No Truck with Govt

INDULGING his interest in firefighting, Scott Kilpatrick has bought a decommissioned fire truck to help him influence voters in the Rockhampton region.

The former candidate for the Liberal Party also owns the premises of the old North Rockhampton fire station and volunteers as a rural firefighter.

But yesterday his focus was the election as he took to the streets in the old fire truck, adorned with a sign saying C[pounds sterling]Change The GovtC[yen].

C[pounds sterling]I don't think it's about Labor or Liberal,C[yen] Mr Kilpatrick said.

C[pounds sterling]It's about the balance of power in the Senate.C[yen]

Mr Kilpatrick said he opposed giving the Greens the balance of power and backed the Family First senate candidates for Queensland.

He did not provide comment on the recent controversial Twitter postings of Family First Senate candidate Wendy Francis.

Ms Francis came under fire at the weekend for her comments about homosexual marriage.

The statement reportedly read: C[pounds sterling]Legitimising gay marriage is like legalising child abuseC[yen]. …
