JAP Parts UK are closing in on a double, having won the title and reached the final of the Challenge Cup.

They are the holders, and will defend their trophy after seeing off Boro Jewellers by six wickets.

Jewellers failed to sparkle, making 117-9, though B Mustafa shone with 60. In reply S Rogers (38) and F Ayubi (39no) saw Jap Parts home.

In Division One MSVSport were restricted to 98-5. In reply, Farman (52no) and B Shkeel (33no) sent Azaad romping to victory by seven wickets.

Boro Cars were bowled out for 97 at Billingham Balti House before J Spillane (42) and Rz Rashid (32no) saw the home side to 98-2. Specsavers were bowled out for 96 with Z Mehmood (37) top scoring. This proved too many for Boro Jewellers who struggled to 87-9. In B Division Stafford Place bowled out Balti Hut for 70, S Livingstone hitting top fom by taking 6-6. Stafford Place lost early wickets but rallied to win on 74-5. C Brown (43) set up O'Grady's 102-7 at home to Nunthorpe Merlin A, with K Moss (3-19) doing most damage. Wickets tumbled quickly in the reply and although F Din (32no) provided some resistance, Merlin finished on 92-8. Pot & Glass made 103-4 when visiting University of Teesside with R Fawcett (36) and C Fawcett (53). In reply, M Burton (51no) and M Pelling (32no) saw the home side to 106-3. M Taylor (31) set up Hemlington's 83-5 at home to Billingham. In reply, G Burgum (52) steered Billingham home by four wickets.

C Division has developed into a three-team race as P&P Maintenance have closed in on On Time and New Marske. Clairville Crabs made 143 thanks to S McLean (59) with M Atkinson (5-31) doing most damage for visiting P&P. C Magin took control of P&P's reply, finishing on 119no as they reached 147-3 to win.

On Time had an easy win over LloydsTSB after N Ramzan (68), S Asif (77no) and A Rashid (33no) saw them to 197-2. W Qurban (4-13) was chief destroyer as Lloyds struggled to 56.

New Marske also had an easy win over Seal Sands. …
