Suspended Driver Comes Unstuck after Rear-Ending Car

PEERING through the windscreen on a rainy day on his way to Super Cheap Auto in Lismore to buy new wiper blades for his mate's car, unlicensed driver Jason Carroll banged into the rear of the braking car in front of him.

The panel denting encounter resulted in Carroll, 20, a meat worker of Casino, pleading guilty in the Lismore Local Court to driving on June 1 when his licence was suspended and negligent driving.

The crash left Carroll further out of pocket when he was fined $1000 by MagistrateRobyn Denes. She also disqualified him from driving for two years a until August 2012.

Ms Denes said she wouldalso have to advise the District Court of his latest offencesbecause he was on a suspended jail sentence at the time.

Police facts stated the Nissan Pintara being driven by Carroll in Uralba Street, Lismore, rear-ended a Honda Civic at low speed. Carroll then refused to give the fem-ale driver of the car his details so she called police. …
