New Life Member Set to Kick on Next Year

TREVOR Green professes to being an ordinary player back in his younger days yet he has proven to be one of the mainstays off the field for Australian Rules football on the Darling Downs.

Green was on Saturday at the Holman Medal Night at St Mary's College bestowed with life membership of AFL Darling Downs after devoting the best part of three decades to the game in the region.

His administrative life began back in 1984 when he served on the committee of the Institute club before going on to fill the role of league delegate.

Green filled the positions of president of University and secretary on two separate occasions. He has also served as president, vice-president and treasurer of AFL Darling Downs, while having also previously had the distinction of being vice-president of the now defunct South Queensland Australian Football Association and delegate to the Queensland Country Council.

Green currently serves as AFLDD president and is honoured to count himself in what is an illustrious group. …
