Plucky Prius Adds to His Chook Farm; FEATHERS FLY: Candidate Excited to Prove His Commitment

FREE range chicken farmer and Democrat candidate for Richmond David Robinson says when it comes to the environment and small business issues, he walks the talk.

Mr Robinson has put his management of the Alstonville Free Range Chicken Farm under the spotlight to prove his commitment.

"I didn't want to try to get media attention by attacking anyone else's policy or ideas. The Democrats are here to support and help, not attack for a five second media grab," he said.

One of his recent projects has been to modify a Toyota Prius electric hybrid vehicle to make it suitable for commercial chicken delivery.

The Prius has been outfitted with an extra battery to power two large portable refrigerators.

"I've always been interested in electronics and pushing the limits of what something can do or what it was originally meant to do," he said.

The car is registered with the NSW Food Authority as a meat transport vehicle. …
