THE end of an NRL season with no point and no points cannot come quickly enough for Melbourne Storm star Billy Slater.

The Test and State of Origin fullback admits the club's year of salary cap punishment and the chorus of abuse and cash-waving accompanying their away matches is wearing thin.

But Slater promised the Storm would continue to give all they had for their last three matches before a rare season without finals.

And they are particularly looking forward to playing two of those games at home, including Saturday night's AAMI Park clash with Cronulla.

"We're all looking forward to having a break - it's been a tough year for all the players and the staff," Slater admitted.

"Everyone's looking forward to the end of the season.

"We've still got a brand to uphold for the next three weeks and we'll be doing our best at training and on game day to do our best for ourselves and our supporters.

"We get this one out of the way and we've just got a couple more. …
