I COULDN'T agree with readers more, regarding the state the beautifully revamped Eldon Square has been allowed to get in.

We regularly see abuse, filthy language as well as fighting and even illegal drugs being smoked. Why aren't the police, cameras, etc, picking it up and dealing with it? I spoke to security staff in Eldon Square and they told me it is the council's responsibility and not theirs.

I think it is now time for those responsible for dealing with it to do so and quickly. I had to take my young granddaughter out of there from one group. If I see that then certainly the cameras certainly do!

The majority of the young around there are no bother at all, so why has the minority not been dealt with? As for the Cenotaph, before the revamp metal fences were put up to stop skateboarding - why have they not been replaced? Newcastle City Council, you are driving decent people away, sort it!
