NEWLY-PROMOTED Gateshead Rutherford and Percy Main Amateurs are among the early front runners in the Premier Division, both staying unbeaten in their three opening matches.

Rutherford are leading the charge with a superior goal difference that was boosted by their 4-0 victory away to Seaton Delaval.

Mike Jeffares opened the scoring on the stroke of half time before Robbie Frame got a second half hat-trick to sink Delaval.

Percy Main extended their promising start to the campaign, the Villagers were 1-0 victors against previous table-toppers Carlisle City. Ponteland United, also unbeaten in their three starts to date, are occupying second spot after beating Saturday's hosts Stocksfield 1-0. An early 20-yard effort by Mark Worrall for reigning champions Harraby Catholic Club at Murton came down off the crossbar, but the goal was disallowed after the referee had consulted his assistant.
