HE may or may not be in government and for the moment Luke Hartsuyker isn't worrying too much about the implications of a hung parliament.

The re-elected Member for Cowper is similarly not too worried about being a sole National surrounded by independent and Labor electorates.

"I think it's hard to speculate. What we need to do is to allow the process to take place and wait for the seats to be allocated," Mr Hartsuyker said.

Should a fresh election be called, both Labor's Paul Sekfy and the Christian Democrats' Deborah Lions have both indicated they will not stand again. The Greens' Dominic King and independent John Arkan have both said they would go again.

"We're looking at plans for the future, assuming an election around 18 months or beyond," said the acting president of Coffs Harbour branch of the Australian Labor Party, Steve Pratt.

"If an election is called tomorrow, we would have to get together and make some decisions. …
