THE talent from the Alstonville swimming pool just keeps coming.

Water polo coaches from around the world might want to have scientists carry out tests on the facility as it appears there is something in the water.

The latest success story is that of 14-year-old Jack Barrett.

The Woodlawn student has been playing the sport for four years now but in the last nine months his improvement has been steep.

Gold medals in the Brisbane competition; coaches awards; topping goal-scoring tallies; silver medals in Queensland State championships; and his latest achievements which came with selection in, and dominance for, the Queensland 14-and-under squad which won a silver medal in the East Coast Challenge.

But it doesn't stop there.

Barrett is a true marksman.

The teenager plays the driver position a more a playmaker than a scorer a but still managed to rattle up the equal third highest goal tally in the tournament a 16 goals from seven matches a and the only non centre-forward to feature at the top of the goal-scorers list. …
