Devils Are Dropping in; Display Team Helps Launch Run

TEESSIDE'S sky will come alive next month as one of the world's top parachute display teams drop into town.

The Red Devils will be helping launch this year's Tees Pride Middlesbrough 10k run.

And their acrobatic and stunning display will add some colour to the town's sky prior to the big event.

The Parachute Regiment Freefall Team -The Red Devils are widely regarded as being among the world's best.

Every member of the 25 man team is a serving Paratrooper from the Army's elite Parachute Regiment.

Each of them has seen active service in either The Falklands, Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan or Iraq.

Formed in 1964, the Red Devils carry out more than 100 spectacular parachute displays each year.

Last year saw them perform at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone as well as a whole host of other high-profile appearances.

Race Organiser Jimmy Wattis, pictured, said: "The Red Devils should provide a great spectacle to get the event underway. …
