BELEAGUERED boss Brian Havelock admits he can't wait for the end of the Premier League season after yet again being hit by Redcar Bears' injury jinx.
The Simpson Racing UK/RIS Bears have been hit catastrophically hard by injuries throughout a torrid year.
And they visit Sheffield for their final PL meeting of the season (7.45pm start) again shorn of key riders.
Already without hand injury victim Emiliano Sanchez, they have now learned they must also do without James Grieves.
and bruised ribs in last Friday's 57-34 defeat at Scunthorpe and has been ruled out for a fortnight.
"We've been absolutely crucified by injuries all season," complained Bears promoter Havelock.
"I don't think I've been able to put the same seven riders out for more than three meetings in a row before we've been hit by another injury.
"I can't wait to put this season behind us now and start again next year.
"Grievesy's put in a sick note for two weeks, so I'm hoping he'll be fit for our Tees-Tweed Trophy matches against Berwick (on September 4 and 9)."
Former Sheffield star Kyle Legault guests in place of Sanchez tonight, while the rider replacement facility will be used to cover Grieves' rides.
Brighter news, however, is that second string Charles Wright will return to action tonight.
Wright missed Friday's trip to Scunthorpe after being hurt in a horrific crash also involving Jerran Hart against the same opponents at South Tees Motorsports Park the previous night.
Sheffield have been hit hard by injuries and illness too recently and their patched-up side crashed 56-35 at Newcastle on Sunday. …
