This Talented Trio Has a Big Future in Country Music

THREE young country music stars, Riannon Fisher, 15, Hope Fischer-Brodie, 15, and Sophie Raymond, 13, will mix it with the best this weekend when they compete in the junior sections of the 15th annual Country Music Festival and Talent Quest at Bauhinia House, North Rockhampton.

Riannon has been singing and competing since the tender age of nine and is emerging as a talented young songwriter.

Even though she won't be singing over the weekend, she will be at the festival as a musician supporting the other contestants.

Riannon enjoys the Capricorn District Country Music Festival, saying, "It's great catching up with people, getting up on stage and entertaining the crowd is fun".

"Just seeing the audience tapping along to the music with smiles on their faces is a great feeling," Riannon said.

She said she hoped to one day write songs for well-known recording artists and to hear her songs being sung on the radio and at concerts.

Riannon enjoys all facets of music and can be found entertaining at parties and barbecues on a regular basis.

Riannon and Hope volunteer their time to entertain at the RSL Sunset Ridge, Zilzie.

Hope has been singing and competing since the age of five, receiving many awards at festivals throughout Queensland due to her unique vocals, guitar, songwriting and entertainment skills.

Some of her more recent success has included the Gold Queensland Country Music Junior Overall award at Charters Towers, Capricorn District Country Music Festival Junior Overall award, first placing all her sections at Gladstone Country Music Festival, and she was invited to perform at the Cawarral Country Music Festival, where she got to meet her idols Amber Lawrence and Jetty Road.

She credits part of her success to the support and encouragement she has received from the CDCMA since becoming a member in 2009, plus her personal hard work and determination. …
