A Hub of Community Activity in Gladstone; the Community Hub Brings People Together in Disability Action Week

THIS week is Disability Action Week and it was celebrated yesterday at The Community Hub with a link, listen and learn luncheon with the coming together of various community services.

In attendance were Communities for Children, D.A.D.S., Disability Queensland, Women's Health Centre, Qld TAFE, Neato, Gladstone Aquatic Centre and much more.

Susie Lawler from The Hub said it was a chance not only for businesses to network, but also people with disabilities in the community to come together and learn about the different services and organisations available in the Gladstone region.

"It was an information expo which originally started for families, but has now become a networking place for professionals," Ms Lawler said.

"With over 14 different agencies and a range of services to offer, it is really a one-stop shop for disability services."

The Hub is run as a community centre aimed at including the whole community in events, whether they are job opportunities, sport or community celebrations and other community events. …
