HOLY Trinity Church still stands as a rather majestic ruin in Stockton but at one time many people will remember that there was a school connected with the church bearing the same name.

Reader Alan Wealleans has sent this picture of his class from Holy Trinity School in 1951.

Alan says the picture was taken with form teacher Mr Campbell in the school yard.

"The school was demolished to make way for a roundabout as part of road improvements and the church which was linked to the school is still there, but sadly in ruins," he said.

"The headmaster at this time was Mr Nesbit and Canon Salter was the church vicar. Teachers I can remember are, Mr Parker, Mr Thompson, Miss Allen, Miss Watson and Mr Salmon."
