STEVE and Tania Adams are living the Sunshine Coast dream a they are the first to admit it.

The young couple live in an aaveragea four-bedroom home at Ridgehaven in Currimundi. They swim, fish, go boating, water skiing and surfing, all the reasons they wanted to settle on the Coast in the first place.

Their fairly modest four-bedroom home is aaveragea, according to figures from the Real Estate Institute of Queensland, which puts the median price for a suburban house at $470,000. But to the Adams', it's their castle.

Positioned in a cul-de-sac with an in-ground pool and side access to store the family atoysa, the Adams' have the coastal lifestyle they had always dreamed of.

"The one thing we wanted when we moved here was a life ... to us it's not about having the biggest and the best. We're happy with what we've got. We love what we've got," Steve said.

Ten years ago and before starting a family, Tania and Steve moved to the Sunshine Coast from Toowoomba.

"When we were married, nearly every weekend we would be up here. We just loved the lifestyle and the relaxation," Tania said.

A keen surfer himself, Steve said they also visited the Gold Coast a lot but found it was fast-paced and rushed.

"We were driving home from the Sunshine Coast one night and we were at about Helidon and we both said to each other a[approximately]that was a great weekend we had at the Coast, it would be great to move up there' and we said a[approximately]give me one good reason why we shouldn't move up' and neither of us had an answer."

So, with nothing in Toowoomba that suited their dream lifestyle, they started looking around Buderim and Currimundi for a house to buy.

"We decided it was either going to be Buderim or Currimundi and we really liked the Caloundra end because it was a lot slower, a lot more comfortable, closer to the beach and you could build closer to the beach."

But with house and land packages then selling close to $200,000, it was out of their price range.

With luck on their side, Steve's cousin was working for Sam Torrisi Homes at the time and they met up with Sam, whose first question was: "How much do you have to spend? …
