RUGBY LEAGUE: The reserve grade Challenge Cup grand final is likely to be a battle of two halves.

A common clichE[umlaut] in the sporting world, this time it is not a reference to time but rather to the positional aspect of the game.

CQU Norths Chargers boast one of the most exciting players in the competition in their halves with Anthony Toby at five-eighth while his opposite at Gladstone Brothers is the tough as teak Will Jarvis.

Returning from injury, Toby comes into the regular line-up and pushes Ricky Fuller back to fullback with their combination being vital to the Chargers chances tomorrow at Browne Park.

Both players have an abundance of senior league experience and have won premierships in the A-grade competition with Fuller one of the stand outs for CQU Norths this season in the reserve-grade competition.

"They play a similar brand of footy to what we do.

"They like to dominate the game by controlling the footy."

Facing a big Gladstone Brothers side, the Chargers coach is expecting more than just muscle.

"They've got a big forward pack, but they've also got some good halves that give their backs some room," Kennedy said.

If they are to win tomorrow afternoon, it will be the first time in 16 years that the Chargers have won both the local league and the Challenge Cup extended league competitions. …
