A GREAT advert for local league football this one with the two Stockton teams giving their all to make for a thrilling encounter.

Both teams played good football and passed the ball well. Had the finishing been better we could have witnessed a five-goal thriller. In the end the two teams took a share of the spoils in a goal-less draw.

West End's Ben Clarke fell awkwardly on his arm following a fair challenge from his opponent but it was soon clear that all was not well. It was later confirmed from hospital that Ben had dislocated his elbow. Matty Martin switched to left back and gave a fine performance, as did the entire defence made up of Jason Turnbull, Charlie Gaffney, Michael Watson and keeper Shannon Harker.

A Ricki Bloomfield free kick from 20 yards was hit just over the bar, but the first half's best chance fell to Ben Hancock who chipped the on-rushing keeper, but his shot was wide of the post. …
