COUNDON and Leeholme completed the double over Whitehill with a pulsating 3-2 victory. There were only 10 minutes gone when Coundon were awarded a penalty which Kevin Shoulder converted with ease.

Shoulder then turned provider with a precise ball in from the left to allow Paul Thompson to volley home and put the leaders 2-0 up.

Worse was to come for the visitors when Ashley Brown made it 3-0 with a neat finish on the halfhour. Whitehill managed to pull one back with a Micheal Graver penalty. The second half saw both teams defending well until, on 85 minutes, Whitehill made it 3-2 with a 20-yard strike from Michael Graver. That set up a tense end to the game - but Coundon held on to keep hold of top spot.

Cornforth United remain second on goal difference after a hard-fought 5-3 success over Washington Town.

A brace from John Cook and a strike apiece from Philip Best, Andrew Blackburn and Andrew Soppit made up Cornforth's tally, Washington's replies from Paul McCoomb (2) and Daniel Clarke. …
