Wannabe Dancers Step Up for Course

FUTURE stars will have to pull out all their best moves to impress judges and a former So You Think You Can Dance star for the Tweed's new full-time Certificate IV in dance.

Dance Force director Nicole Davis is hoping her Tweed Heads South business can help bridge the gap between high school students and entering the professional world of dance.

"There is nothing around here at the moment for these kids," Ms Davis said.

"This is a big deal for our area as most students wanting to branch into the professional dance world have to move to Sydney or interstate to study dance in an elite course.

"It's really bridging the gap to go from regular after-school dance to professional dance. It will prepare them for the real world."

Dance Force will take about 20 students who are 16 years and older for next year's course.

Ben Veitch, who was a top-four finalist on Channel 10 TV show So You Think You Can Dance will be the class teacher for next Saturday's audition. …
