Article excerpt

Reaction from fans after the Jaguars' 24-17 season-opening victory over the Broncos:

All right! Is this the start of something good? The Jags win and the Colts lose.

C.J., Jacksonville

The heat was brutal, the orange No. 15 jerseys annoying, but the outcome was priceless. If the Jags can just solve the problems with the defensive secondary, this team could go far.

Great game! Kampman is definitely what the doctor ordered. Where was MSW today? And Cox needs to be benched!

Mike, San Diego

Mark, Jacksonville

I believe this victory is something to build on. The offensive line needs more games to jell, but they look solid. I am worried about Cox in the secondary.

Dre, Atlanta

I think David Jones was a great pick up for us. Did Reggie Nelson even play for the Bengals?

Russell, Honolulu

Big improvement on the defensive line with three sacks. Garrard looked much better than he has in recent games. However, our corners and safeties continue to get beat and, against QBs such as Brady and Manning, this does not bode well for future games. …
