H YMNSHEET receives the seal of approval in the Brother 141 Handicap at Kempton today.

The Pivotal filly was the subject of much Oaks speculation last term when she dotted up in a humble Yarmouth maiden - her only start as a juvenile.

Sir Michael Stoute soon discovered she was not of that quality following a pretty tame reverse in the Swettenham Stud Fillies' Trial at Newbury. Having since been given plenty of time to recuperate, Stoute then re-introduced her into handicap company over 11 furlongs here at the start of the month.

Entitled to have needed the run, Hymnsheet failed to land a blow, but was still spotted making late progress to take fourth behind the battled-hardened Ottoman Empire.

The assessor has relieved her 2lb for this assignment, in which the extra furlong will almost certainly play to her strengths. A much energised performance from Stoute's filly, can be confidently predicted. Walvis Bay has also been found a decent opportunity in Leicester's feature race. …
