JAMIE'S AMERICAN FOOD REVOLUTION 10pM, c4 At least Jamie's newborn baby boy has given him something to be cheerful about. Because there's certainly no joy in his efforts to persuade Americans to eat better. The horror show of meat slurry that turned the delicate stomachs of little British chicken-nugget fanciers leaves their hardier North American chums unmoved, probably because they're so disconnected from the origins of their food that they're unable to put a name to a potato.

STORYVILLE: THE PHOTOGRAPHER 10PM, BBC4 Darlusz Jablonski's eloquent film juxtaposes the stories of two former inhabitants of the Lodz ghetto. In 1987 a cache of rare colour slides of the ghetto was discovered. They were taken by Walter Genewein, a Nazi accountant who kept records of goods manufactured by the ghetto's inmates and of Jews deported to concentration camps. Using a confiscated camera, Genewein recorded scenes from ghetto life. The strange thing, says Arnold Mostowicz, a Jewish doctor who survived the ghetto and deportation to Auschwitz, is that although the scenes and the people depicted in Genewein's photographs are familiar, they do not show the ghetto of his memory, a place in which the leaders of the Jewish population were forced to call a meeting of the ghetto's doctors in order to discuss the deportation of non-workers -- the sick, the elderly and children. …
