Australian Title Earns Scott Share of Kudos

AT age 37, Scott Jacobs has finally entered his prime.

Jacobs took out the Australian masters 35-39 years division one squash championship at Hobart earlier this month.

"I competed at the masters in Melbourne last year but didn't do any good," the Laidley real estate agent said.

"This is my highest achievement so far."

Given his result in Melbourne and the nature of masters tournaments, Jacobs went to Hobart without any big goals.

"Masters is all about having a good time and being with a great bunch of people," he said.

"It is far from cut-throat.

"In saying that it is competitive but I had no real ambitions other than to do better than last year.

"I did a lot better."

Scott puts his form down to playing aa lot morea recently and at a higher standard than previously.

"I'm playing for the PCYC in Ipswich in the Brisbane competition," he said.

"It is a lot stronger than I had been playing. …
