FORMER Australian Test cricketers and current leading coaches Doug Walters and Geoff Dymock are conducting a coaching clinic for junior cricketers of Gladstone district these school holidays.

With all players from under-10s to under-17s and all skill levels to be catered for, the clinic will involve learning or reinforcing the basics of cricket and improving natural skills, along with the basics of batting, bowling, fielding and running between wickets.

The six-hour session also includes a net session and a skills game.

Players can learn the how to score an additional 500 runs a season and/or how to genuinely swing or spin the ball as a bowler; and avoid back injuries.

New skills will be introduced to those who have attended a previous clinic.

Legendary Australian batsman Doug Walters MBE featured in 74 Tests, and has been a leading cricket coach for over 30 years.

He famously made a century in one session in Perth, which was just one of his standout achievements with the bat. …
