QUEENSLAND trainer Pat Duff has nominated Rebounded ahead of Ausworld as the stable's top hope in today's $50,000 XXXX Gold Lismore Cup (2100m).

"To be honest I've got a leaning to Rebounded because we know he'll get the trip," Duff said.

"If Ausworld runs out the distance though, he'll be the thorn in the side.

"I'd love nothing better than the pair to fight out the finish."

Rebounded, winner of the Murwillumbah Cup (2000m) on July 27, carries topweight of 57kg with Mandy Radecker in the saddle.

Ausworld, a Scott Seamer mount and last-start winner in the Ballina Cup (1600m), has 54.5kg.

Despite numerous attempts, Duff has not won a Lismore Cup since Gujarat saluted 27 years back.

Seamer, a Caulfield-Melbourne Cup (Ethereal) and Golden Slipper (Calaway Gal) winner, hasn't won the Lismore Turf Club's flagship event since 2000 on Mougi.

Ironically, the Laurie Mayfield-Smith-trained gelding won the Ballina Cup prior to his success in the Lismore Cup. …
