TYNE Rowing Club's junior squad finished their regatta season with their largest medal haul of the year.

The North of England Championships, held annually at Hollingworth Lake, Rochdale, saw every junior win a medal.

The club also came joint third in the Junior Victor Ludorum - despite having only seven representatives.

TRC's first win of the day came from the WJ15 double scull consisting of Rachel Laidler and Ellie Dobson. They beat crews from Royal Chester RC and Warrington RC in the final with a convincing lead.

Robbie Miller and Ollie Bratley were victorious in the J16 double scull, commandingly beating Merchant Taylors' School Boat Club from Crosby in the final.

Tyne's last win came last race of the day in which the WJ15 coxed quad of Laura Pitkethly, Rosie Miller, Ellie Dobson and Mina Bell, coxed by Robbie Miller, triumphed over Lancaster John O'Gaunt RC and Royal Chester RC in a straight final.

Masters representatives Colin Percy and Liz Bray finished a close second in their final of the mixed double scull, as well as competing in their respective single sculls races. …
