UNITYWATER meter readers will read every Sunshine Coast water meter, a company spokeswoman vowed yesterday.

The decision followed revelations that the State Government had legislated to allow utility companies to average bills, so that not all meters had to be read.

Meter readers were back on the streets yesterday, less than 10 days after the deadline residents had to pay their last water and sewage bill.

Unitywater acting CEO Peter Scott said water readers would be reading meters over the next 10 weeks.
