Man of Steel Chips Away at Wood Art

AFTER years working with steel, Wayne Vince discovered not only his love for wood but his talent in creating beautiful artworks.

In 2007 Mr Vince got his hands onto woodwork and has been chipping away ever since creating furniture and replicas of historic vehicles.

Some of his artworks will be on show as well as his talents as he sands away at his wall clock at the Warwick and District Woodcrafters Open Day.

His artwork has been a hit in Toowoomba at their local Golden Gouge competition, and the regional show where he took out many prizes.

C[pounds sterling]I just do it for the love of making it. If you win it's good, but if not people see it and admire it,C[yen] Mr Vince said.

The first memorable wood piece he made was a fire engine in 2008 which won four awards at the Toowoomba Show.

He has been non-stop since then and has created about 18 models which line the wall of his office. …
