THE Far North Coast Rugby Union has cleaned up at the 2010 Ken Catchpole medal awards night in Sydney on Monday night.

Former Yamba Buccaneers and current NSW Waratahs player Kane Douglas was rewarded for his outstanding season winning the Chris Whitaker Aspiring Waratah Award.

"I had a good start to the season with some impressive form in the trials and was lucky enough to play in every Super 14 match this season," Douglas said.

"The coaching staff get the main say on who the award should go to so I'm thrilled that people have recognised me in amongst this great group of players."

Douglas' brilliant season was capped with representing the Australian Barbarians against England this past June.

Wollongbar-Alstonville's Daniel Damen and Steve Miller were also lucky enough to pick up awards.

"It's great to see the Far North Coast represented here tonight," Douglas said.

"Steve deserves his award and it looks like Daniel is going to be a real player of the future and an exciting prospect for the Waratahs. …
