HOME-Made Stories Set for Launch on Big Screen

Article excerpt

JOIN Gladstone Region acting mayor Gail Sellers for the launch of the Over the Hill by Geoffrey Head and the Digital Odyssey HOME project, on the newly created screen at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum at 6.30pm tomorrow night.

There has been a fantastic response to Craig Walsh's Digital Odyssey and the HOME project created with his wife, Hiromi Tango.

Visitors and locals have been flexing a little creative muscle to contribute to the collaborative artwork screen that will project the community responses about HOME captured on video.

It's not too late to contribute, as Hiromi will be working with a wealth of inspirational materials for you to transform into the collaborative screen, between 10am and 4pm today and tomorrow. All are invited to join in and spend as much or as little time as desired.

Then head down to the Millennium Esplanade, Tannum Sands, between 4pm and 8pm on Saturday, October 2, to check out Craig's amazing works Humanature and Who's Average, part of Digital Odyssey presented at the BAM event, Beach, Arts, Music.

Digital Odyssey is a national regional touring project presented in Gladstone by the Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney, in partnership with Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, continuing on display until Saturday, October 9, and includes Craig's Incursion installation in Library Square each night from 6.30pm to 11pm.

Award-winning local artist Geoffrey Head will officially launch an exhibition of his latest works, Over the Hill, during tomorrow's evening event.

You'll recognise the features of Gladstone's main street in this series of linocuts and appreciate some of the extraordinary architecture seen in the older buildings.

Over the Hill will continue on display until Saturday, October 30.
