A TWO-wheel drive Outlander will join Mitsubishi's 2011 product line-up.

The new variant, dubbed the Outlander LS 2WD, is the star attraction of the popular vehicle's 2011 model year update, which introduces a number of improvements across the range.

All models in the 2011 Outlander line-up, including the traditional all-wheel drive variants, will receive, a new power window safety system including driver auto up/down function, and an enhanced brake assist system.

In addition, a full-size spare tyre will now be standard on all five-seat Outlander variants and updated alloy wheels will be available on XLS, VR and VRX variants.

Masahiko Takahashi, Mitsubishi's president and CEO, said the new two-wheel drive Outlander LS is a significant model which will increase the breadth of the company's model range and appeal to a whole new audience.

"Outlander is a tried and trusted brand in the marketplace, and has been praised for its styling, flexibility and technical features," Mr Takahashi said. …
