IAN Mills, CEO of Mercy Health and Aged Care and Eileen Nuutinen, manager of Palm Court Mercy Day Respite Centre, North Rockhampton, opened the respite centre doors to the community at the end of September.

The centre open day brought together Palm Court day respite clients and health care service providers in a relaxed morning of entertainment and interaction.

Eileen said Palm Court in Richardson Road, North Rockhampton, provides quality day respite each Monday to Thursday from 9.30am and 2.30pm.

The centre provides recreation programs, simple exercise sessions, concerts and musical activities, morning tea and lunch for its clients.

The centre bus is also available to take clients, living within the Rockhampton city limits, to and from the centre.

Ian said the open day provided an opportunity to welcome local service providers from a cross-section of aged, disability, community health, home and community care services to the centre.
