Party Ends in Court Date; Teen Faces Assault Charges after Avenell Heights Bash

A HOUSE party in Avenell Heights ended in a court appearance for a Bundaberg east teenager after she abused and elbowed police who tried to break it up.

Nikki Lee Ross, 19, pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court yesterday to two charges of assaulting police, two charges of obstructing police and one charge of public nuisance.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Fiona Ward said police had been called to break up a Dunn Street party about 10pm on Saturday, September 11.

"As police were attempting to arrest one of the party- goers, the defendant began pulling on one of their arms," she said.

"She also started to yell: CyStop picking on girls you dirty f***ing pigs. Leave them alone, you f***ing c***s'."

Snr Const Ward said Ross continued to pull on a person police officers were trying to arrest.

The court was told police officers then tried to arrest Ross, who pulled away, broke the wristwatch of one of the officers and scratched an arm, causing it to bleed. …
