ROCKER Meat Loaf has told for the first time about his gig from hell in Newcastle.

The singer has revealed he was high on steroids during his ill-fated show at the Metro Radio Arena three years ago when he stopped the gig less than an hour into it, telling everyone he was going to retire. "I went out and it started OK but after the first couple of songs it fell apart. By the time I got to Anything For Love nothing would come out of my throat.

"I was so distressed and so distraught plus I am on 100cc of this cortisone. You know how you get people and when they get drunk they get really nasty? Cortisone will make you really not yourself, it really makes you mean, it makes you snappy. …
