Addazio Says UF's Brantley Is Fine; Gators QB Missed Parts of Practice after Hurting Ribs against Alabama

GAINESVILLE - Florida quarterback John Brantley was limited in practice Sunday night because of a rib injury he suffered against Alabama, but several players and one coach indicated Brantley will be able to play against LSU on Saturday.

Offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said Tuesday that Brantley was fine. In his weekly news conference Monday, Brantley said he was sore but would not miss any time.

"Little sore like any other game would be, but nothing major, nothing that's going to stop me from doing anything," Brantley said.

Brantley did not appear to be in pain and had no trouble moving around or walking Monday. Rumors surfaced Tuesday that Brantley might not play against the Tigers after Las Vegas oddsmakers took the game off the board and listed Brantley as questionable.

On Tuesday afternoon, Addazio responded "yes" when asked if Brantley was fine. He practiced Tuesday. However, when Addazio was asked if Brantley would play Saturday, his response was: "He's doing great. …
