PROFESSIONAL tennis coach David Glinster is excited about the region's future potential having some top-class facilities.

The Ipswich Grammar courts at Brassall are modern, along with the George Alder claycourt complex at Leichhardt. The Ipswich junior facility at East Ipswich is soon to be upgraded.

C[pounds sterling]We're going to have three gun tennis centres. If we've got that, that's got to be a huge starting base,'' Glinster said.

C[pounds sterling]There's little pockets here and there . . . I know Brookwater just put in four courts which is a little bit away but still good.

C[pounds sterling]The facilities are there now. What we've got to do is utilise them more and get more people.''

Glinster wants to improve the current C[pounds sterling]disjointed'' junior competition to help kids develop.

C[pounds sterling]I actually think that there's enough tournaments in Queensland and around the place now,'' he said.
