EUROPEAN champion Andy Turner marked the end of a "dream" season with Commonwealth Games gold on an evening which saw the Home Nations collect seven medals in Delhi.

Three came as Turner led an England clean sweep in the men's 110m hurdles, with William Sharman taking silver and Lawrence Clarke bronze.

England's Martin Brockman clinched decathlon bronze, while his compatriots Alex Smith and Mike Floyd were second and third respectively in the men's hammer and Steph Twell won women's 1,500m bronze.

And Katherine Endacott finally received her bronze medal earned in Thursday night's women's 100m final after Sally Pearson of Australia was disqualified.

The highlight of an evening which saw the first Commonwealth Games athletics medal for an Indian woman - Kavita Raut in the women's 10,000m - was Turner's hurdles triumph.

The 30-year-old Sale Harrier, who won European gold in Barcelona in July, triumphed in 13.38 seconds, with Sharman second in 13.50secs and Clarke taking bronze by 0. …
