BAMBURGH CASTLE ONCE home to the kings of ancient Northumbria, Bamburgh Castle is one of Northumberland's most iconic attractions and was completely restored in 1900.

Overlooking the stunning Northumberland coastline, Bamburgh Castle has 14 public rooms and more than 2,000 artefacts, including arms and armour, porcelain, furniture and artwork. Bamburgh Castle's epic scale attracts film and television crews and it has featured in everything from Time Team to Becket.

The castle building itself covers nine acres and sits imposingly 46m (150ft) above the North Sea.

After exploring the impressive building, refreshments are available in the Clock Tower Tea Rooms.
